Oakham is the furthest town on our list. It is up the A1 past Stamford and then west into Rutland, so for a Bedford firm it is the outer edge. Rutland's county town
Oakham is the county town of Rutland, with its castle hall famous for the horseshoes left on its walls by visiting peers. The old centre is built largely of local stone, and the town has grown with newer housing around it.
Worth the trip
Because Oakham is a long way for us, it makes most sense for the bigger jobs, where we are on site for a while:
