Before you ask
Questions people ask
Can you remove spray foam from my loft in Cranfield?
Yes. Spray foam removal is a large part of our work across MK43. We take it off, inspect the rafters and battens underneath, and give you photos of what we found, which helps when a buyer or lender asks.
Do you cover the other MK43 villages too?
Yes. Cranfield, Marston Moretaine, Wootton and the rest of MK43 are all on our patch. Give us your postcode when you call.
Do you put the loft insulation back after a re-roof?
We can top it up to 300mm or more while we are there, which is a good time to do it with the roof open and the loft already being worked in.
Ready when you are
It takes about 30 seconds to ask, and you are not committing to anything.
More about roofing in Cranfield
Out along the A421
Cranfield is about twenty minutes west of Bedford, out past the Marston Vale. It is part of MK43, and MK43 is where we have done more work than almost anywhere else: re-roofs, repairs and a good number of spray foam removals across the villages.
A village with a university next door
Cranfield is best known for its university and airfield, and the village has grown a lot around them. You will find older brick cottages, postwar houses and bungalows, and newer estates on the edges. Each brings its own jobs:
- older cottages where the battens have rotted and the felt has gone, and a strip-and-relay is the honest fix
- postwar roofs on original underlay that is now tearing and letting damp into the loft
- newer homes with loose ridge tiles, cracked verge mortar or gutters that overflow in heavy rain
Spray foam that is stopping a sale
Many homes around here had spray foam put on the underside of the roof, and mortgage lenders and surveyors now often refuse it. We remove it carefully, check the timbers underneath, and leave the loft clean. If you have solar panels, we can arrange an electrician to disconnect and reconnect them safely. One customer told us her surveyor commented on the quality of the job afterwards.
Every job starts the same way: we look, take photos, and give you a written quote with every item listed. Where a re-roof needs Building Control sign-off, we arrange the inspection. With the roof open, it is also a good time to top up the loft insulation.
