Before you ask
Questions people ask
My new-build in Biggleswade has lost a ridge cap in the wind. Can you fix it?
Yes. It is a common job on newer estates. We refit or replace the cap and check the rest of the ridge and verges while we are up there, so you are not calling us back after the next storm.
Should I get my roof jet-washed to get the moss off?
No. Jet washing cracks tiles and drives water under them. We have replaced plenty of jet-wash-damaged tiles. We remove moss by hand-scraping, which cleans the roof without harming it.
Do you cover the villages around Biggleswade?
Yes. We cover the SG18 area as well as the town. Ring 01234 634 016 with your postcode.

More about roofing in Biggleswade
Biggleswade from Bedford
We cover Biggleswade from Bedford, east along the A603 and down the A1, and it is an easy run for us. The town sits on the River Ivel with its market square in the middle and new estates spreading out on every side.
Old market town, new homes
Biggleswade has two very different roofscapes. Around the market square and the older streets you find Victorian and earlier brick buildings in slate and clay tile, many with chimneys. Out on the edges are the big modern developments, with concrete tile roofs and dry-fixed ridges. They need different care:
Older properties
- slipped or cracked slates replaced to match, or a full slate re-roof where the nails have failed across the whole roof
- chimneys repointed and re-leaded with new step flashing and aprons
- valleys renewed in lead
Newer properties
- loose or missing ridge and verge caps after windy weather
- gutters and downpipes cleared and realigned
- soffits and fascias repaired or replaced
What to expect from us
We photograph the problem so you can see it, tell you plainly whether it is a small repair or something bigger, and send a written quote with every item listed. We do not jet-wash roofs, ever. Jet washing breaks tiles and forces water where it should not go. If moss is the problem, we scrape it off by hand, clear the gutters and check the roof over while we are up there. The work is fully insured and comes with our written company guarantee, and if you have any problems afterwards we come back and fix the fault.
