A complicated roof with valleys, a box gutter and several chimneys. Slate like this is worth doing properly, because done right it lasts for generations.
What we did
- New natural Spanish slate across the whole roof
- Apex Blue breathable membrane and treated battens underneath
- A Code 5 lead box gutter and thatched lead valleys
- A dry ridge system and freshly cemented verges
- Every chimney repointed
- An eaves support tray system, and the loft insulation brought up to modern standards
