My roof is old. Is it worth repairing, or should I replace it?
Often a repair is the right answer, even on an older roof. We'll show you photos and tell you honestly. If the felt or timbers have gone across the whole roof we'll say so, but we won't talk you into a new roof you don't need.

Do I need full scaffolding for a small repair?
Not always. Plenty of small repairs, like a ridge tile or a short run of eaves, can be done safely from a tower scaffold. We tell you which on the quote.

We told her there was no need for a load of extra work, and new lead with about a metre of fresh felt sorted it. We treat repairs in Peterborough the same way. The faults we fix most
Slipped and cracked tiles
Usually one or two, and usually after a windy night. With open fen country to the east of the city, the wind gets a long run at Peterborough roofs and finds the weakest tile.
Loose ridge tiles
Old mortar dries out and lets go. We can rebed the ridge, or fit a dry ridge system with new ridge tiles so there's no mortar left to fail.
Crumbling cement verges
The mortar along the gable edge breaks up and drops into the garden. We rebed it with a new undercloak, or switch to a dry verge.
Rotten felt at the eaves
Old felt sags behind the gutter and lets water run into the top of the wall. We open up a strip along the bottom of the roof, renew the felt and fit an eaves support tray.
