Before you ask
Questions people ask
Can you repair a roof on a house I let out?
Yes. Tell us who to contact for access and we'll arrange a time with your tenant. You get the photos and the written quote, so you can decide without visiting yourself.
My leak is around a loft conversion dormer. Can you help?
Yes. Dormer leaks usually come from the lead cheeks, the flat roof on top, or the junction with the main slope. We check all three before deciding what to fix.
Can you match the old slates on my terrace?
We match natural slate as closely as we can on size, colour and thickness, so the repair sits in with the rest of the roof and does not stand out from the street.
Ready when you are
It takes about 30 seconds to ask, and you are not committing to anything.
More about roof repairs in Cambridge
Cambridge has a lot of roofs looked after from a distance: houses let to tenants, homes of people who work long hours, flats where nobody is quite sure whose roof it is. Small faults go unnoticed until a ceiling stains. We make repairs simple to arrange. You get photos of the fault, a written quote, and a clear account of what we did.
Faults we fix most often
- Slipped or cracked slates on the Victorian terraces, refixed or replaced to match
- Tired lead at chimneys, dormers and valleys, renewed with step flashing where it meets brickwork
- Failed mortar ridges and verges, rebedded or replaced with a dry system where that suits the roof
- Felt failure at the eaves, opened up, renewed and fitted with an eaves support tray
- Leaks around dormers and rooflights added during loft conversions
Repairs in a conservation area
Much of Cambridge is covered by conservation areas, and like-for-like repairs are the norm there. We match slate and tile to what is on the roof already. Where a repair would change the look of a street-facing roof, we tell you before we start so you can check with the council.
A repair, not a sales pitch
Our customers mention one thing more than most: we tell them when a localised repair will sort the problem. If your roof needs a few slates and a length of lead, that is what we quote. If it is past repair, we show you why in photos instead of just saying so.
Arranging it
- Ring 01234 634 016 or email info@ultimateroofcare.co.uk with what you can see
- We visit, look from the loft and the roof, and take photos
- You get a written quote, and we agree a day that suits you, or your tenant if the house is let
- We carry out the repair, clear up, and talk you through what was done
Distance and emergencies
Cambridge is about 30 miles from Bedford along the A428, and the drive usually takes under an hour. For leaks and storm damage we run a 24-hour call-out, so a roof that lets go overnight can be made safe and then repaired properly.
